No Fewer Than Six Perish in Crowd Crush at Ghanaian Military Recruitment Event
No fewer than six individuals have died during a crowd crush at a military recruitment event held in a sports arena in the West African nation.
The Wednesday's "devastating" event seems to have been caused by "a sudden rush of candidates who breached security protocols and rushed into the entrances," stated a statement from Ghana's armed forces.
22 others were hurt, among them five who are in critical condition.
A large crowd had gathered at El-Wak stadium, in the capital, the capital, with the aspiration of joining the armed forces.
