I will stamp all over 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be shown live on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the pair met personally to publicize next month's boxing match.
Ex two-time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Fighter's Mentality
"I will break his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will really want to hurt him. That's my intention."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of those words, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul rather targeted former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.
Targeting Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK opponent Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Fighter
Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.
Paul's History
Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
Still, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's biggest financial successes, regularly earning huge earnings.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and claimed he would stop the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.
"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.
Size Difference
As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
